Valentine's Day is a super fun holiday for greeting cards, whether digital or print. I've had the great opportunity to work with a few different companies to get the love out there but it's super fun to see how "LOVE" can be shown in so many different ways. It ain't all mushy hearts, y'all!
For justWink's online catalogue, a fun and youthful line from American Greetings, the cards were more informal in tone and stylistically they totally ran the gamut! I had such a great time exploring a crazy amount of styles and pictured below is just a small set that I had the opportunity to work on. These were all part of their Primo Packs which were locked behind a registration wall in order to customize and send.
Love So Pretty
For Seller's Publishing's High Note Collection, the awesome AD Ashley emphasized that we could really push the ampersand since the card was short and sweet with "You & Me". All she had to say was ampersand and I was all in! Every designer just loves a good ampersand. I really wanted to create an ampersand silhouette I hadn't seen before but still keep it really bold and beautiful. And man, Seller's Publishing went all out with the printing techniques! You've got embossing, foil, and die-cutting, be still my heart! The card on the left is the original color way and they liked it so much they did a second color way specifically for Valentine's with an awesome red foil. Mmmmm, foillllll.
I've been working on some personal lettering patterns and here's a wrapping paper concept that I think could be really awesome for those Valentine's gifts (or gifts in general). This is me trying it out and seeing how it reads when wrapped around a 3D object. I think it's looking pretty cool!
